WEP participates in Africa day event in Amsterdam, Netherland
Women Environmental Programme (WEP) is participating in the Africa Day (Afrikadag) programme holding at the KIT Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 28th May 2022.
Discussions at the Africa Day revolve around the importance of African voices in civic discussions and policy at the national and international level; and how the Netherlands and Europe relate to African countries, communities and people in the year 2022.
WEP is contributing to the discussions on forest preservation, especially African forests, as one of the sustainable ways of addressing the climate change crisis. Protecting African forests is crucial in fighting climate change, biodiversity loss and for sustaining life on earth.
Prior to Africa Day, WEP’s John De Baaki discussed the importance of forest preservation in efforts to address climate change globally and the contributions of WEP to these efforts – https://www.afrikadag.nl/…/wecf-wep-talk-feminist…
WEP will speak extensively on the ideal international and national policies that promote inclusive forest preservation during the session on “Why Dutch Forest Policies Need Ecofeminism” at Africa Day, organized by our partner, Women Engage for a Common Future WECF International from 10:45am – 12:00 noon (Amsterdam time).
