Project Description:

The ‘Forests for a Just Future’ programme of the Green Livelihoods Alliance (GLA) is a project supported by  Women Engage for a Common Future International (WECF) that aims to ensure that tropical forests and forest landscapes are sustainably and inclusively governed to mitigate and adapt to climate change, fulfill human rights and safeguard local livelihoods. This project is a global project covering 12 countries including Nigeria. WEP is serving as a technical partner on gender for this project in Nigeria. In addition to serving as a technical partner, WEP implements activities ranging from policy dialogues, campaigns against land grabbing and forest degradation, promotion of organic agriculture and trainings on mainstreaming gender in organizational policies.
