PEACE/PVE SENSITIZATION FOR STATE LEVEL SECURITY PERSONNEL IN BENUE

In a bid to finding lasting solutions to insecurity and Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE), Women Environmental Programme (WEP) organized a sensitization workshop to raise awareness against violent extremism and reduce the vulnerability of unsuspecting persons to recruitment and radicalization to Violent Extremism.

As part of activities under her Preventing Violence Extremism (PVE) project being implemented in Benue State with funding from Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), WEP engages with relevant institutions such as security agencies to share knowledge on best practices, current trends and plausible solutions to prevent violence extremism.

At the Sensitization/training of state level security personnel on Peace/PVE which held on June 4th, 2021 at Benue Hotels & Resort, participants were equipped with knowledge requisite for aiding investigation, reporting crime and having maximum respect for human rights. It is believed that engagements like this will strengthen the security consciousness of personnel at both community and state levels.
