NIMC KATSINA OFFICE HAS GONE GREEN

The National Identity Management Commission’s office (NIMC) Katsina State has gone green. The office once devoid of trees now has different species of trees growing in its surrounding.

On the 17th of October 2018, Women Environmental Programme (WEP) collaborated with MURNA Foundation with support from Trees for Cities and planted different species of trees at NIMC office in Katsina town, Katsina State to beautify the environment and address land degradation.

One year after, our team was at NIMC office yesterday, 26 February 2020, for a monitoring visit and we were amazed how fast the trees have grown.

Similarly, the trees planted in Government Junior and Senior Secondary School Dandagoro at the same period are also doing well when our team visited yesterday.

We are glad we have contributed in our little way in addressing land degradation and tackling climate change in Nigeria through planting of trees.
