DEVELOPMENT OF GENDER AND CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION PLAN FOR NIGERIA

In 2016, Women Environmental Programme (WEP) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized a National Consultation on Gender and Climate Change in Abuja, Nigeria. The consultation which then Minister of Environment, Amina J. Mohammed also participated in proposed some recommendations in respect to gender and climate change issues in Nigeria.

NIMC KATSINA OFFICE HAS GONE GREEN

The National Identity Management Commission’s office (NIMC) Katsina State has gone green. The office once devoid of trees now has different species of trees growing in its surrounding. Women Environmental Programme (WEP) through the Women2030 sub-grants supported Community Agriculture and Environmental Protection Association CAEPA Cameroon to implement an action that aimed to prevent inhumane treatment of widows and guarntee their rights in Bali Chamba communities in Cameroon’s North West region.
