Consultation on Gender-Just Climate Solutions

Women Environmental Programme (WEP) with the support from British High Commission Abuja, on 21st October 2021, ahead of the 21st Session of the Conference of Parties (COP26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), organized a consultation on gender-just climate solutions at Top Rank Galaxy Hotel, Utako, Abuja.
The aim of the consultation was to gather experiences from participants about climate change impacts, mitigation and adaptation initiatives that better support vulnerable populations to build resilience against climate change.
The consultative meeting which featured presentations on the current climate situation globally and nationally, brought together civil society organizations, women, and youth groups as well as persons with disability who shared stories of climate change impacts and proposed appropriate actions that should be taken by different stakeholders to address climate change.
