Call for Consultants: Training of women and persons with disabilities on installation and maintenance of solar panels and inverters.

 Women Environmental Programme (WEP), in partnership with Christian Aid, is inviting applications from qualified consultants to provide training for women and persons with disabilities on installation and maintenance of solar panels and inverters in Benue, Nasarawa and Kaduna States.  

BACKGROUND 

The Actions to Combat Climate Threats (ACCT) in Nigeria project is part of Christian Aid’s Global Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Programme (CCASE) that has a goal of – Women and marginalised people facing the worst impacts of the climate crises are more resilient to existing and future climate shocks and have enhanced food security. 

Women Environmental Programme (WEP) is Christian Aid’s partner on the ACCT in Nigeria project. The ACCT in Nigeria project is being implemented in Benue, Nasarawa and Kaduna States. 

The project has the goal to achieve enhanced food security and livelihood for women and vulnerable populations affected by severe impacts of climate related shocks and stresses. 

The objectives of the ACCT in Nigeria project are: 

  • To promote climate-smart agricultural practices among smallholder women farmers and other vulnerable groups in local communities by 2026.
  • To improve access to clean and sustainable energy for women and other vulnerable groups in local communities by 2026.
  • To build the capacity of women groups and civil society organizations to advocate for increased investment in climate change adaptation actions by relevant government agencies. 

 TERMS OF REFFERNCE: 

 The selected Consultant will be responsible for: 

  • Designing comprehensive training modules tailored to women and persons with disabilities. 
  • Delivering hands-on training sessions on the installation and maintenance of solar panels and inverters. 
  • Providing training materials and support resources. 
  • Ensuring that trainees are equipped with practical skills to independently manage renewable energy systems. 

  Consultant must meet the following criteria: 

  • Proven experience in renewable energy training and installation. 
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver inclusive training programs. 
  • Capacity to provide training in Nigerian local languages e.g. Hausa, and Tiv is an added advantage. 
  • Strong commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusion of persons with disabilities. 
  • must be a registered company with CAC  
  • Must be registered with the tax authority and attached it recent tax clearance certificate. 

 Application Process: Interested vendors are requested to submit the following: 

  1. Company profile including experience in renewable energy training. 
  2. Detailed proposal outlining the training approach and methodology. 
  3. Evidence of past training programs and their impact. 
  4. Budget breakdown for the training program.
