IMPACT STORIES OF OUR WOMEN2030 PROJECT
In 2016, WEP, in collaboration with other partners – WECF International, Global Forest Coalition, APWLD – Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development and Gender and Water Alliance- with financial support from the European Commission commenced implementation of the project – “Women CSOs networking to realize the SDGs, also known as the Women2030 project” in 62 countries.
The aim of the project was to ensure that the Sustainable Development Goals were implemented in a gender-sensitive manner with the involvement of women and other vulnerable populations.
This the partners did by: training women’s and gender organizations to have their capacities built to effectively participate in SDGs implementation and monitoring; raising awareness of the general public on the rights of women; providing sub-grants to women’s and gender organizations to implement empowerment and advocacy initiatives; advocating for laws, policies and programs that will ensure gender-sensitive SDGs implementation.
The work we have done over five years have produced results. The seeds we planted have grown.
These results are captured in this booklet of impact stories for your reading pleasure.
