WEP HELD A SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL STAFF RETREAT

To commence the year 2017, WEP organized a two-day retreat for her staff and Board of Directors from the 4th to 5th of January 2017, at Sawalino Hotel in Keffi Nassarawa State, Nigeria.

The aim of this year’s retreat was to help WEP review her projects/activities of the previous year (i.e.2016), plan ahead for the successful implementation of projects and activities in the year 2017 and reorient staff and board members on her aims and objectives.

The retreat was also used to plan for WEP’s upcoming 20th anniversary, review WEP’s guidelines of operations and organizational structure towards the achievement of WEP’s goals and objectives.

The retreat began with the welcome remark and introduction of the Board of Directors by the Executive Director, Priscilla Achakpa who also gave an overview of the history of WEP and how WEP has evolved over time.

The Board of Directors present at the retreat were: Prof David Ker OON who gave a presentation on “Tips on Developing Organizational Policies,” Miss Anne-Marie Abaagu, Mr. Yakubu Aliyu who also gave a presentation on “Organizational Effectiveness,” and the newest member of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Ann Vandefan.

It was indeed an enlightening, engaging, motivating and fun-filled two-day retreat for all staff and board members as everyone interacted and contributed effectively to every segment scheduled at the retreat.

The retreat was brought to a close by the newly appointed Deputy Executive Director, Mrs. Kyauta Giwa, who gave a closing remark and appreciated everyone for their contributions, urging all staff to be prepared to put all that they had learnt and discussed into effective use towards the development of WEP.
