Holds a BA in English Literature and has practical formation in the field of development work and gender issues (in my present role as a youth Director of my organisation) especially as it concerns young people. This has placed me on a position to use my skills and experience in a role that seeks to contribute to the practical promotion of the core principles and programmes of WEP. For years, I have been able to show strong performance in my contributions as Team Member of the Peace and Conflict Resolution thematic project of my organisation, Women Environmental Programme (WEP). I have also been actively involved in the organisation’s monitoring and evaluations of projects and activities. I have participated in technical evaluation committees, in conducting needs assessments/ baseline surveys and reviewing proposals to fund activities and interventions. The knowledge gained continues to be of benefit to the rest of the work that is carried out in the organisation.
My work experience has schooled me in values and qualities such as sound judgment, creativity, technical knowledge and teamwork (in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with respect for diversity and gender awareness). At the level of community engagement with issues related to underdevelopment and with the people directly affected by such issues, I have found myself exhibiting personal competencies such as in-depth knowledge (of the local society alongside its trends, procedures and attitudes), strong communication and analytical skills, and tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive issues.
